TOP THREE TOWN NORTH TOASTMASTERS CLUB PRIORITIES: FEBRUARY-MARCH, 2000

1. Ensure 100% of club officers attend officer training. Two opportunities remain to have club officers trained. Town North will hold a session in North Dallas on February 22, from 6-7 P.M. (see details below and emails sent to club Presidents in early February by Area Governors). Southern Division will hold a session in downtown Dallas on 2/29. 2. Collect semi-annual dues from club members. Dues payment and semi-annual report are due to Town North Division Area Governors on 3/10/00. 3. Attend and support Area and Division Speech Contests. See Town North website (www.townnorth.nethop.com) for maps and details, or contact your Area Governor for flyers.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Joe Selan, of Executive Toastmasters, won BOTH the International Speech Contest and the Evaluation Contest at the Area 65 competition that was held on 2/18/00.

Tenet Toastmasters, one of our newest clubs in the Division, chartered the last week of September of 1999. By December 31st they had already signed up 10 new members and met 3 Distinguished Club Plan goals!

OFFICER TRAINING Have you been elected as one of your club’s officers for the Spring Term of office? You can still attend officer training and receive credit for your club toward the Distinguished Club Plan Program.

ICL is located on the Westbound service road of LBJ Freeway (IH635) between the Montfort and the Tollway. For you shoppers, that's between Valley View Mall & The Galleria!

>From the West, take the Tollway exit off 635, bear right (as if to go South) but cross the Tollway at the light. Take the Montfort U-turn so that you are turning back West.

>From the East, take the Montfort exit.

>From the North or South, take Preston to LBJ. Turn right on the Service Rd. Proceed to Montfort.

Now, you should now be on the Westbound Access Road of 635 at Montfort. Pass the Shell station, Cavender's Boot City, Kinko's. Turn right between the 2 tall office buildings (second one is ICL). Pass the covered pull-thru driveway and turn left into the parking garage. The whole ground floor and up the ramp is for visitors. If full, proceed up the ramp to the 2nd floor. The gate is "always" up. Watch for signs.

OUTSTANDING OFFICER NOMINATIONS

Grace Tyler, District 50 Awards Chair, has requested that nominations for Outstanding Club Officers for the Fall Term of 1999 be submitted to her by March 17, 2000.

In all of our Toastmasters Clubs we had some outstanding officers last Fall, and this is a perfect opportunity to recognize them for their hard work and contributions. Please take the time to nominate your club’s leaders. Forms for this purpose are on the Town North Division website (www.townnorth.nethop.com); go to the file folder called: Outstanding Officer Nominations.

Have you registered yet as a member on the Town North Division website? Below is the location of the TM Town North Division website where we can upload/download training/contest flyers, post photos of speech contests, show the Division Important Dates Calendar, etc.

You will have to register on the site the first time you access it (it is a members only website), but after that you can just login.

GET CREDIT FOR YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Have you recently completed the requirements toward your CTM? Has your club signed up a new member recently? GREAT! Get credit for these accomplishments; remember to turn the necessary paperwork into International so you/your club will be recognized.
