TOP THREE TOASTMASTERS CLUB MILESTONES-OCTOBER-NOVEMBER, 1999

1. If not yet done, submit Club SemiAnnual Dues Payment and Dues Report by October 31 to Toastmasters International (includes clubs chartered in June, 1999).

 2. Clubs that elect new officers each six months should hold club officer elections during the second week of November. The slate of new officers recommended by the club nominating committee should be presented to club members the first week of November. Incoming club officer lists are due to Area Governors by November 30.

3. Focus club member efforts on attracting new members and pursuing educational achievements (CTMs, ATMs, etc.). Compare year-to-date results to club Distinguished Club Plan goals.

CONGRATULATIONS! MetroSpeakers Toastmasters, #1470, added two new ATMs during the past month. Both first place winners of this Fall's Town North Division Speech Contests hail from Metrocrest Toastmasters, #3318. Kelly Hewitt won the Humorous Speech Contest and Victoria Collins took the Table Topics Contest. All of the contestants in both competitions did an outstanding job. Thanks to State Farm Toastmasters, #6593, for hosting the competition.

TNT Toastmasters, #4533, is hard at work sponsoring and mentoring yet another new Toastmasters club. That's two new clubs just this year!

Members of Toast of the Town Toastmasters, #5148, were the first from the new Town North clubs that chartered in June, 1999 to compete in an Area Speech Contest. They participated in the Area 63 Fall competition and did a great job!

The members of Comp Communicators, #7692, have earned 3 CTMs, 1 ATM-B, and 1 CL since July 1. Way to go, guys (don't forget to turn the paperwork into International so you and your club get credit for these accomplishments)!

It's official-our Division's newest club, #9101, chartered at Tenet Corporation during the past month.

Welcome to Area 64 and to Town North Division! Spring Valley Speakers in Area 65 just sent their new club charter paperwork to Toastmasters International last week! They meet every other Tuesday at noon on the sixth floor of the Bank One Building at the Toll way and Spring Valley. This club is open to the public.

Addison Singles Toastmasters, #9872, was the first club in District 50 to complete 3 or more Distinguished Club Plan goals for the current Toastmasters year. They achieved all 3 goals prior to August 31!

FALL CONFERENCE UPDATE There still is time left to register for the 1999 District 50 Fall Conference being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 7050 N. Stemmons Freeway on Friday, October 22 and Saturday, October 23. Come to attend some great educational sessions, hear Toastmasters International President Tim Keck speak, make new friends, and attend the District Humorous Speech and Table Topics contests. All District 50 Club Presidents and Vice Presidents of Education are requested to attend the business meetings on Saturday as voting representatives of their clubs (there is no charge to attend these portions of the Conference). Particularly important is the business meeting on Saturday afternoon, where a quorum will be required to vote on District business. If you hold one of these club offices and cannot attend the Saturday afternoon session, please sign the proxy you recently received in the mail and give it to a member of your club who plans to attend so that your club gets to vote.

CLUB NEWS RSA Toastmasters, #5082, has recently established a new meeting time. The club will begin meeting every other Thursday at 11:45 A.M.

Unique Toastmasters, #7274, is in the process of developing a Youth Leadership Program for the Carrollton/Farmers Branch School District.

Talk Of The Tower Toastmasters, #8952, has established the first Tuesday meeting of each month as a special meeting to showcase Toastmasters. The first portion of these special meetings consists of presenting highlights of the Toastmasters Organization overall. The second portion of these meetings contains a presentation from the Successful Club Series program. Guests and club members both find these meetings to be informative and interesting and the Successful Club Series presentations help club members to achieve their CL and AL designations.

BEST OF THE BEST Want to invite some outstanding Toastmasters speakers to present to your club? Contact Kathie Clark, the District 50 Speakers Bureau chairperson, for assistance. Kathie can be reached at: 972-687-9321 or 972-272-5211.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS Are you considering serving as an officer for your club from January through June of 2000? If so, please plan to attend the Town North Division Officer Training Session on Monday, December 6, from 6-8 P.M (registration begins at 5:30). You will get some great tips about your offices and help your club receive Distinguished Club Plan credit. More details on the training will be forthcoming soon.

That concludes this month's newsletter. We'd love to include news from your club in next month's edition; send your information to Becky Hilkert . Hope to see you at Fall Conference. Happy Halloween!
